Oral Biography of Hon. Harry A. Blackmun
The oral history was conducted by one of Blackmun's former clerks, Harold Koh, and provides a personal account of Justice Harry A. Blackmun's life from his youth through his career on the United States Supreme Court, including his years as a student at Harvard University, as a lawyer, and as a judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. In addition to providing valuable insight into the life one of the Court's most influential justices, the transcript provides a valuable behind-the-scenes glimpse at the inner workings of the Court and the process through which some the most influential decisions in American history came to be.
